Thanks to everyone for their input thus far. We have a nice mix of experienced broadcasters and those who are newer to the field taking part in this blogging experience, and they are representing both larger and smaller markets.

Needs and expectations from this exercise are wide-raging, and I hope people will continue to submit any topics they feel should be addressed. Along with (and in some cases, a part of ) the modules I’ve outlined in the initial podcast entitled “Outline of Modules for Practicum,” we’ll also be looking at establishing a “set format” for stories that are submitted to MNN, how to address smaller market needs from a news perspective, how to write in a “modern” news style, how to target specific demographics, and how to answer questions about where the news comes from. These issues have all been requested by participants.

As you may recall from my initial podcast post, “Generating News Stories” was my first proposed module. In my opinion, small market needs, where the news comes from, and targeting a specific demographic can certainly all fall under that heading.

So, let’s get started.
